Teen stabbed in skirmish at Massachusetts high school
A 15-year-old boy has been injured in a stabbing at Methuen High School in Methuen, Mass., after he entered his former school and confronted a 16-year-old student.
Police say the 16-year-old student allegedly stabbed the boy twice in the torso, reports WCVB-TV.
The suspect then chased after another student as he brandished a four-inch knife, police said. A staff member and another student tackled the suspect, police said.
The 15-year-old was being treated at an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition.
The 16-year-old has been charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, a knife; one count of armed assault with intent to murder; one count of carrying a dangerous weapon on school grounds; and one count of assault by means of a dangerous weapon.
Officials say that the two teenagers involved in the incident are known to each other and that there was no threat against the larger school community.
