Parkland (Pa.) district resumes normal class schedule after threats caused schools to close
Schools in the Parkland (Pa.) district have resumed normal operations as police continue to investigate a threat that shut down schools last week.
Parkland Supt. Mark Madson says school buildings were to have an increased police presence throughout Monday.
Earlier: School buildings in the Parkland (Pa.) district are closed for a second day because of a threat.
The district is switching to virtual instruction and is continuing an investigation after the district received a threat toward Orefield Middle School, reports Lehigh Valley Live.
The district received an anonymous tip on the Safe2Say app that was “deemed concerning” by school administrators and South Whitehall Township police, according to a letter from the district.
The district and investigators have released little information into what caused the threat.
