Student wounded by gunfire outside Boston high school

The teenage victim is reported to be in stable condition at a local hospital; the alleged shooter has been arrested.

A teenage student was shot Tuesday morning on the grounds of a Jeremiah E. Burke High School in Boston.

WBTS-TV reports that the victim is in stable condition and another student, a 17-year-old identified as the alleged shooter, was arrested.

Officers responded to the school at about 9:30 a.m. after a report of a person shot around 9:30 a.m., 

 The teen reportedly was shot in the abdomen.

The suspect is also believed to be a student, police said.

A search of the area led to the recovery of a gun.
