Stabbing at Utica, N.Y., high school sends 18-year-old student to the hospital
A 17-year-old student at Proctor High School in Utica, N.Y., has allegedly stabbed a fellow student Monday morning.
The stabbing sent the victim, an 18-year-old male student, to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was stabbed in the back and hands, reports Syracuse.com.
The stabbing occurred in the hallway of the high school. Teachers were able to grab the attacker and took his weapon away while waiting for security.
Charges are pending against the 17-year-old.
For the rest of the week students will not be allowed to leave campus during their free periods or lunch, officials said. Police said there will be more officers in the school for the rest of the week.
