4 University of Idaho students found dead in apartment near campus
Four University of Idaho students were found dead Sunday at a home just outside the Moscow campus, police and the university’s president said.
CNN reports that officers responding Sunday to a call of an unconscious person discovered the fatalities.
Authorities have identified the dead as Ethan Chapin, 20, of Conway, Wash.; Madison Mogen, 21, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; Xana Kernodle, 20, of Avondale, Ariz.; and Kaylee Goncalves, 21, of Rathdrum, Idaho.
Police have not released the causes of death, but have indicated “there is no ongoing threat,” the university tweeted.
In-person and online classes Monday have been canceled and set to resume Tuesday.
The deceased students’ families have been notified, and the university says it is assisting the police investigation.
The Moscow-Pullman Daily News reports that the apartment where the bodies were found is on King Road, a small street south of campus that is home to apartment complexes where many students live.
