High school student in Texas charged with fatally stabbing fellow student
An 18-year-old Texas high school student has been charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of another student.
The Austin American-Statesman reports that Mac Brown Mbah Mbanwei, 18, a student at Manor High School in Manor, Texas, allegedly stabbed 18-year-old Derrin Loving Tuesday in a school bathroom.
Police say Loving was stabbed multiple times in the chest with a kitchen knife.
Manor police said they don't know if there was a quarrel that precipitated the stabbing but said Loving and Mbanwei knew each other and were involved last week in an altercation.
No staff members were present in the school bathroom during the incident, but some students witnessed the stabbing.
Loving's sister, Sierra Smith, told CBS Austin that Loving was a special needs student who was nearly non-verbal.
