A teenage student opened fire with a handgun Monday at a private Christian school in Madison, Wisconsin, killing a teacher and another teenager. The shooter also died, police said.
The Associated Press reports that the shooter also wounded six others at Abundant Life Christian School--two students who were in critical condition and four with less serious injuries, Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes said.
The shooter was a 17-year-old female student, a law enforcement official said. Investigators believe the shooter used a 9mm pistol.
Police said the shooter was dead by apparent suicide when officers arrived.
Abundant Life is a nondenominational Christian school — kindergarten through high school — with about 390 students.
