Teen who wounded 4 at Ohio school is sentenced to prison until he's 21

James Hancock will be incarcerated until he is 21.

A 15-year-old boy who opened fired on fellow students in the cafeteria of his Madison, Ohio, school has been sentenced to serve in a juvenile detention facility until he turns 21.

James Hancock, who was an eighth-grade student at Madison Junior-Senior High School, pleaded guilty earlier this year to four counts of attempted murder and one count of inducing panic, WLWT-TV reports.

Authorities say the student brought a loaded handgun to the school on Feb. 29 and shot two students in the cafeteria. Two other students were injured either by shrapnel or while running away. None of the victims was seriously injured.

In imposing the sentence Butler County Judge Ronald Craft cautioned Hancock that if he didn't behave while in custody, he could end up serving time in an adult prison.

Before being sentenced, Hancock told the court, "I would like the victims to know that they weren't targeted."
