Student attack sends Boston principal to the hospital

A 16-year-old girl's alleged assault of Patricia Lampron left the Dr. William W. Henderson Inclusion School principal unconscious with rib and head injuries.

The principal of a Boston public school was knocked unconscious after being attacked by a student.

The Boston Herald reports that Patricia Lampron, 61, principal of the Dr. William W. Henderson Inclusion School in the city's Dorchester neighborhood, has been hospitalized with rib and head injuries after a student attacked her and another staff member during dismissal Wednesday afternoon. 

A 16-year-old girl faces assault charges. Police said they arrived at the school Wednesday and saw “an adult female victim over the age of 60 unconscious on the ground being tended to by staff members.”

Another staff member was hit as well, but it’s unclear what injuries were sustained.

The suspect was scheduled to appear in juvenile court on charges of assault and battery on a person over 60, assault and battery causing serious injury and two counts of assault and battery Bon a public employee. Juvenile court proceedings are closed to the public.
