Boy, 11, killed in Texas school bus crash

Student was riding on a Shelbyville (Texas) district bus when a truck struck it from behind.

An 11-year-old boy was killed Monday afternoon when the Shelbyville (Texas) district school bus he was riding in was struck from behind and flipped over on a road near the Louisiana-Texas border.

KTRE-TV reports that the school bus was making a right turn at about 4 p.m. when it was struck from behind by a pickup truck.

The identity of the boy who died was not disclosed.

Police say other students were injured in the bus wreck, but did not provide any details.

School district officials did not have a comment on the wreck.
