Several students injured when school bus roll down embankment near Pittsburgh

40 students were on the bus; several were treated at area hospitals for minor injuries.

Six students were injured Monday near Pittsburgh when a school bus went off the road and down an embankment.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports the crash involving a Mars Area (Pa.) School District bus occurred about 3 p.m. in Adams Township.

Six injured students were taken to the hospital by ambulance. The remaining students either were released to their parents or transported by bus to UPMC Passavant hospital. 

The bus was carrying about 40 students, the district said.

The school district says all students who were transported to the hospital were treated and released.
