Rains cause flooding at University of Wisconsin-Stout

Science wing of Jarvis Hall is closed after basement is inundated with 83,000 gallons of water

Heavy rain has forced the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie to close the science wing of Jarvis Hall. The university says the storm caused extensive damage to the building and flooded other buildings on campus. Some 83,000 gallons of water poured into the Jarvis Hall basement, where electrical distribution equipment is situated. Restoring electrical power to all parts of the science wing could take two weeks or longer, officials say.
