Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich., is constructing the Mary Idema Pew Library Learning and Information Commons, which is scheduled to open next fall. Mlive.com says the facility is being built for $65 million and is named for the wife of Robert C. Pew II, who was among Grand Valley's founders and an early board member, The library will triple the seating of the existing library, which is being renovated for administration use. The Pew library will provide shelf-space for 150,000 books, as well as places for group projects and quiet study areas.
