Anchorage (Alaska) district calls for eliminating 215 jobs

Superintendent proposes cuts in 2013-14 budget.

Cuts will continue to be necessary for some districts in 2013-14. The proposed budget for the coming school year in the Anchorage (Alaska) district calls for eliminating 215 jobs, The Anchorage Daily News says; 100 of those already are vacant positions; with attrition, the superintendent hopes only about 50 people will be laid off at the end of the school year.
