Chicago board expected to approves most proposed school closings

Administration has recommended shutting down 53 elementary schools in the nation's third-largest district.

Despite numerous protests from affected parents and the teachers union, sources have told The Chicago Tribune that the Chicago school board is expected Wednesday to approve closing all but a few of the 53 elementary schools the administration wants to shut down.
