Missouri district plans to provide an iPad for every student

Two-year rollout begins with students in grades 5, 8 and 9 in the Kirkwood district getting devices in August;

Another school system is joining the iPad parade. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch says the Kirkwood (Mo.) School District has begun an effort that aims to put iPads in the hands of every student in the district by January 2015. The school board has approved the first phase of two-year rollout; the first phase will provide students in grades 5, 8 and 9 with iPad Minis in August at an estimated cost of $325,000. The estimated final cost of the two-year plan is $1.775 million.
