More than half of the teachers and staff at Crenshaw High School in Los Angelesare being displaced in a campus reorganization ordered by Superintendent John Deasy. The Los Angeles Times says the district is remaking Crenshaw, a traditional high school, into three magnets. The move came after years of high dropout rates and low student test scores at the school. Teachers had to reapply for their jobs; Of the 62 teachers who reapplied, 29 were selected to return, according to the teachers union.
