Wisconsin Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Evers and public school district leaders are criticizing a budget proposal that seeks to expand the school voucher system statewide. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that the leaders believe the expansion would be too costly for children and public schools. Their remarks came two days after Gov. Scott Walker said that he supports the expansion that legislators have inserted into the budget last week and believes it will strengthen public schools.
