The Pontiac (Mich.) School District owes nearly $8 million from a lawsuit settlement involving health insurance payments that were not made. The district will impose a tax hike to pay the bill, and a judge has ruled that the levy can be spread out over 10 years. The Detroit News reports that Judge Martha Anderson granted a request from to to ease the burden on taxpayers and allow the tax bill to be paid over time instead of one year.
