Despite the opposition of the state's superintendent of public instruction, the Wyoming Building Commission has voted to spend up to $4 million to buy a Laramie building as home for a charter school. The Casper Star-Tribune says the state would use the money to buy a facility to house the Snowy Range Academy. The charter school now leases the space, which formerly housed a Walmart store. State superintendent Cindy Hill objects to the purchase because a representative of Snowy Range Academy was allowed to attend an executive session of the building commission when the issue was discussed.
