Construction will continue on football bleachers at Crystal Lake South High School in Crystal Lake, Ill., but a legal fight will continue over whether the school district will have to tear down the bleachers. The Chicago Tribune reports that an agreement between the city of Crystal Lake and school officials will enable the project to be completed in time for the first football game Aug. 30. The bleachers, nearly 50 feet tall, were built without permission from the city. The school board approved the project in February, but city officials say they were not notified of it until neighbors saw the construction in July. A judge denied a city request to immediately stop the work, saying that because the project was 95 percent complete, the remaining work would not cause irreparable harm. The fate of the bleachers is unlikely to be decided until after the football season.
