Ohio district settles dispute over school construction payments

Reynoldsburg district will pay $979,000 to construction company, which said it was owed $1.7 million.

A construction company will forgo hundreds of thousands of dollars in payment from the Reynoldsburg (Ohio) district to settle a contract dispute over work delays on new elementary and high schools. The Columbus Dispatch reports that under the settlement, the school district agreed to pay $979,000 to Synergy Group, Inc. and others owed for unpaid work. The construction company had sought $1.7 million. The school district and state officials contended that Synergy caused delays that caused them to incur additional expenses.
