Orange County (Fla.) board plans to sue over rejection of high school site

County Commission rejected district's site for a new high school in the western part of the county.

The Orange County (Fla.) School Board is preparing to sue the County Commission, which has voted 6-1 to reject the district's preferred site for a new high school in the western part of the county. The Orlando Sentinel reports that district officials believe other potential sites are likely to cause more public outcry than the rejected one because they border even more houses in existing or planned developments. The new school is needed to relieve crowding at West Orange High.
