The former superintendent of a school district in Mississippi has been sentenced to more than six years in prison for bribery related to a $1.4 million reading program. The Mississippi Press reports that Harvey Franklin, who had led the Greenville School District had been convicted of taking more than $270,000 in bribes to influence the school board to use the program.
