Central Michigan University approves plans for hotel on campus

University will lease the hotel to a private company

Central Michigan University will have a Courtyard by Marriott hotel on its Mount Pleasant campus by August 2015. Mlive.com says the Board of Trustees have voted 6-1 to pursue a lease for the hotel. A private company will spend $12 million to $15 million to build the hotel and also pay an annual rental fee to the university: $175,000 for 30 years and $200,000 after that.
