$12.2 million renovation planned for high school in Epworth, Iowa

Nov. 16, 2022
The project will expand Western Dubuque High School's vocational building and update the kitchen and cafeteria.

Western Dubuque High School in Epworth, Iowa, is undergoing a $12.2 million renovation.

The project will double the size of the school's vocational building and update the kitchen and cafeteria, reports The Telegraph Herald.

The vocational building was built in 2015. The expansion will free up space in the school's main building.

The kitchen and cafeteria project will create a dining space that can seat about 500 students at a time. Currently, some students eat lunch in a nearby commons area because of insufficient space.

Construction is set to begin in spring 2023, and the renovated campus is expected to open in August 2024.

Larson Construction Co. is the builder.
