Four people were injured in a drive-by shooting at Clark Atlanta University early Sunday morning.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the shooting happened shortly after midnight outside the Robert W. Woodruff Library. Four victims were found by police. They were described as alert, and three of them were taken to a hospital. The fourth victim sustained a graze wound and refused medical attention, police said.
Of the four, two were Clark Atlanta University students, one was an Atlanta University Center student and one was not a student. The university has been hosting its homecoming week, and a party was taking place at the time of the shooting.
Witnesses say that hundreds of people were gathered in the area when gunfire erupted. The crowd had been listening to a DJ in front of the library when the shots were fired, police said.
Clark Atlanta is part of Atlanta University Center’s consortium of historically Black colleges.
